TEDS Beneficiaries:

As we have previously visited different venues, community centres and church halls with our sales, we supported local groups, charities and projects in each locality.

For sales in Dorset, we were especially delighted to be supporting the inspiring childrens hospice JULIAS HOUSE. On a guided visit to see for ourselves the amazing dedication and fabulous work that goes on there, we were amazed at the standard of care and thought that goes into running such a vital service as they offer. Please visit their website for details of what they achieve for the children, siblings and parents who use their facilities. www.juliashouse.org

For sales in Wiltshire, we  were pleased to have supported the family accommodation project for the Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit, part of the Caring for Kids Campaign at Salisbury Hospital and the STARS APPEAL. This unit will provide much needed accommodation for parents of sick and ill babies so they can stay near their little ones round the clock. Details of their charitable work, services and fun fundraising events on their website, www.starsappeal.org

Our Donations

Missy's Future Appeal

When we heard about the situation of the 2 year old Alderholt toddler hoping to get to America for some pioneering and life changing surgery, us TEDS ladies just had to help! The surgery on her spine will help alleviate her cerebral palsy and should allow her to walk flat on her feet for the first time. This could save years of corrective surgery, injections and physio in the UK and no doubt much trauma and sleepless nights for Missy and Mum! So from our October RIngwood sale we were delighted to present Lucy and Phil with a donation of £150 towards their fabulous fundraising efforts. Keep up the good work guys!! Follow their progress on www.missysfutureappeal.org and on facebook too!!

Ringwood Infant School

From our summer sale at Greyfriars in August, we were pleased to  support our wonderful Ringwood infant school. They have recently had a new classroom built which will be used for many purposes, including for special needs children and for any situations that may arise for parents to have a private area in which to talk. Us TEDS ladies were invited by their inspirational headteacher Mrs Silk, who told the excited children that a decision had been made from all the suggestions they had put forward and this new classroom is to be called "The Mole Hole"! Our TEDS donation will pay for some lovely colourful fabrics for the cushions which the children will use in the room. We hope to work alongside this proactive school in future months to encourage the children to share, recycle and support projects in their community with TEDS.

Trinity Church Playgroup - Southbourne

2011 has seen TEDS support two local playroups that need an extra hand.

We have given toys and a monetary donation to the Trinity Chuch Toddler Group, who meet regularly in Southbourne in a lovely bright, modern hall for fun, varied play sessions. Their brilliant family support worker is well able to help any newcomers to information regarding the area and all are welcome to their groups. More details by calling them directly on 01202 430227

Jumping Beans Toddler Group - Fordingbridge

We were saddened to hear of the demise of two playgroups in the Fordingbridge area, which has left parents and youngsters with limited places to play and socialise. So it was with great delight that, via Fordingbridges fabulous Sure Start Childrens Centre, we were contacted by a couple of mums keen to set up a new toddler group. They operate out of the Victoria Rooms, Fordingbridge on Wednesday mornings during term time. TEDS has given them £150 of toys and games for the their babies and toddlers to enjoy! More details available from Melissa from on 07590 113251. (Full details of all play groups and parent support groups from Sure Start on http://www3.hants.gov.uk/the-bridges-cc)

Mother's Union Annual Holiday
One of our lovely volunteer helpers Sue, is involved with the running of local groups such as the Scouts, Mother's Union and plenty more! As we so appreciate her help on TEDS sales days in Ringwood and are keen to support her fundraising efforts for her groups, then we have donated money to the Mother's Union for 2 young children to attend a one week summer holiday residential holiday in Surrey.

TEDS Beneficies 2010:

We admit to having a soft spot for our first ever beneficiary, the amazing charity COPING WITH CHAOS based in Dorset. They are run by parents for parents with disabled youngsters. They offer holiday time care and events that all the family can share together. We were delighted to be able to offer them a donation from the proceeds of our first sale and again after our last sale in 2010.

The club was formed in January 2008 and is run entirely by volunteers. TEDS was delighted to join them for their Tea on the Lawn event at Greyfriars where we presented Lynda, Mary and Rosemary with a donation towards future events and trips out.

TEDS are delighted to have been able to support another fantastic local charity, the SARAH KINSLEY FUND, started over 30 years ago to help raise money for a local girl needing dialysis. Although, sadly, Sarah Kinsley is no longer with us, the friends and commitee members are still working hard to help local children with special needs in the Ringwood, Fordingbridge, Downton, Cranborne and surrounding villages. For further details of their work locally, contact the SKF directly: friends@sarahkinsleyfund.org.uk

Towards the end of 2010, we heard about the very sad case of a little boy who lives  near Christchurch in Dorset, who was very recently diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour (Defuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma). He is only 5 years old. Touched by his story, we chose to support their fundraising efforts as best we could.  For the very first time we charged an entry fee as well as holding a raffle. Monies taken directly form the raffle ticket sales, entry plus the kitchen takings were donated in total to the boy which we were able to increase to the sum of £250, thanks to our well supported sale. Details can be found on the site his aunties and parents have set up for him, named after his favourite power ranger, www.theredrangerfund.co.uk
