September - RINGWOOD CARNIVAL 2011 -

Our float this year was bigger and better then ever with an "Old Macdonald" farming theme, complete with our very own mascot bear driving a vintage tractor along with a trailer full of various farmyard animals of the soft and cuddly kind! We were delighted to win the 3rd prize place in the afternoon procession in our catagory, so well done Liz and Greg for all the hard work mending tractors, hauling around bales of hay, making scarecrows and painting trailers! Our lovely girls helped with bucket rattling and handing out details of our next sales and how you can donate and exchange, recycle and replace toys through TEDS! Well done to all those that turned up to support the carnival entrants for both the afternoon and evening processions and especially to those lovely children and ladies  (and gents) who blew kisses to our tractor driving teds bear - you know who your are!!  Look forward to seeing you all again next year, 3rd Saturday in September, for more TEDS fun!
Thanks to RPJools for posting the above photo and tons of others on the Ringwood People website

July - Stable Home Family Trust Summer Fair

A lovely summer fair with craft stalls, book stalls, jewellery, tombola, raffle, plus a silent auction and alpacas! There was live music by several bands culminating in the fabulous "Stable Family's Got Talent" Show! Everyone enjoyed the day and a big thank you to the organisers, helpers and volunteers who made it happen. Make sure you go along next year and enjoy the wonderful relaxed atmospere, great varied stalls and help to raise some funds for this weonderful resource on our doorstep for adults with learning difficulties.

July - Bournemouth Family Festival, Meyrick Park

A long, tiring, fun, fabulous day!

After an early start and setting up, our stall looked fabulous with all of our lovely toys and teddies - just a few things to show what a real TEDS sale would look like and the quality, prices and choice that we have through the toys etc kindly donated to us. We had quite a few enquiries about exchanging toys and a very interesting conversation with a lady who volunteers in her local charity shop and how she recently refused to throw items into the skip/bin as "they had too many already". She, like us TEDS ladies, believes that all toys, with some life left in them, should find new homes and not be sent to landfill as per our ongoing mission of DON'T DUMP - DONATE...if you don't want toys then donate them to us and we'll do the rest!

Meanwhile, the sun shone, the bands played, our friends from Julias House (www.juliashouse.org) were present and there were a lot of tired happy children wending their way home late that afternoon - our "nearly teens" were shattered after the zorbing and dancing so definately a date to put in your diaries for next year! Well done Jules and team for your efforts in organizing  this event - Brill!

July - Ferndown Carnival

A very hot day with beautiful blue skies! How lucky were we walking the route from the leisure centre and up through the streets of Ferndown, lined with lots of people and waving children. After the procession, the events field hosted lots of stalls, including our own TEDS stall of course and there were many dance and fun events, bouncy castles, fairground rides, water zorbing and tons more!

The star of the show though was definately Titan the Robot, who was absolutely amazing!! He amused, terrified, told jokes, sang and parped his way around the arena making us all laugh and be just a tiny bit afraid at the same time -terrific!!!

July - Wilton Carnival

On a wonderful warm day at the beginning of July, the Wilton Carnival set off from the middle school and down through the town. Lots of children were involved in this year's animal theme and came in superb fancy dress  costumes and make-up! After the procession, we pitched up in the events field and enjoyed the entertainment, classic cars, motorcycles, funfair rides and many local stalls with their lovely hand crafted items. Well done to all involved and the event organisers - especially Gary and Susy!!!

MAY - Poole Park Toddlerthon

Although the weather was mixed and a bit on the cold side, the wonderful toddlers from some of Poole's local playgroups and schools did a sponsored walk around the edge of the park to raise funds for local charities as organised by the Rotary Club. The Mayor and dignitaries were there and enjoyed being entertained by the cheeky magician Count Backwards!

MAY - Greyfriars Pre-School 50th Anniversary Celebrations

A fun day arranged by Sue and her team to celebrate the pre-school's 50th anniversary. There were stalls on the front lawn and lots of fun activities for the children. A display was set up in the Ann-Rose hall showing the pre-school over the years and some of the old toys the children used to play with from that era.

Well done to all the pre-school staff and helpers for a great day! And to our gorgeous little helper in fancy dress found hiding in our suitcase of soft toys!!

APRIL - Teddy Bear Parachuting, Cathedral Green, Salisbury - STARS APPEAL

We had a fun day at the latest Teddy Bear Parachuting event held outside the Cathedral in Salisbury City Centre in aid of the Salisbury Hospital Stars Appeal, www.starsappeal.org. A lovely sunny day and nice gentle winds ensured all the bears had a safe landing on the green and allowed TEDS to promote the Salisbury sale at the Leisure Centre on Saturday 23rd July in aid of the Stars Appeal and in particular, the Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit, family accommodation build.

APRIL - St Georges Day, Salisbury

Fun and frolicks in Salisbury Market Square again this year with lots of entertainment for the children, plus stalls and food!

TEDS rolled in via Liz's Ancient Series Landrover which is great fun to decorate with toys, bunting and flags! We set up our information table and thoroughly enjoyed speaking with local people telling them all about TEDS and what we do!

Thank you to all those - young and old! - that gave our teddies a new home for a token donation, we hope they give you lots of pleaure.
